1. Job Details

Job Title: Assistant Professor – Department of Computer Science

Location: Pune

Reporting to: HOS/HOD – Computer Science

3. Key Accountability

Academic

\n
• Responsible to conduct lectures as per the assigned workload
\n
• Assist the Associate Professor, Professor, HOS in developing the Computer Science curriculum
\n
• Active participation in academic and examination duty
\n
• Conduct practical, tutorials as per the assigned schedule
\n
• Responsible for setting up question papers
\n
• Participate in organizing seminars, conferences, workshops, FDPs, hackathons, coding competitions, etc.
\n
• Understand the skills relevant in the IT/software job market and provide insights to professors and HOS
\n
• Organize various training programs for students to develop technical and soft skills
\n
• Organize study tours/industry visits for students to give required exposure
\n

Research Development

\n
• Expected to show a high level of proficiency in research in Computer Science and allied areas (AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, IoT, etc.)
\n
• Responsible to write research papers
\n
• Responsible for publishing papers nationally/internationally in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
\n
• Be a co-investigator for writing research proposals
\n
• Encourage students to write research papers and participate in project competitions
\n

Strategic

\n
• Support in the execution of the strategic plan of the school
\n

Operational

\n
• Participate in student-related activities such as NCC, student welfare, ASG, cultural and technical events, and counseling/mentoring students
\n
• Actively participate during admissions of students and counsel
\n
• Responsible to work closely with students on various academic and mini/major projects
\n
• Supervise during examinations
\n
• Actively be a part of organizing convocation
\n
• Accompany students for rural immersion programs, study tours, yoga, internships, international tours
\n
• Responsible to check answer sheets of students and share assessment with seniors for further student improvement
\n
• Address student issues
\n
• Maintain proper record of students
\n

Finance and Budget

\n
• Follow the directives of professors, HOS, and Dean to utilize the budget within the academic unit
\n

Collaborations

\n
• Actively be a part of National Teachers Congress, Bharatiya Chatra Sansad, National Women's Parliament and other program events/program committees
\n
• Focus on engagement with IT/software companies for industry collaboration, placement of students, and Alumni
\n
• Collaborate with CIAP and Marketing to have smooth student admissions and placements
\n

4. Person Specification

Desired Qualification and Experience

\n
• Preferably a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Computer Applications/allied disciplines
\n
• Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in MCA / M.Sc. Computer Science or a relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
\n
• Bachelor's degree in BCA / B.Sc. Computer Science preferred as the qualifying undergraduate discipline
\n
• Preferably should be NET/SET/SLET qualified as conducted by UGC
\n
• A person without a Ph.D. but having a Master's Degree (MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science) in a relevant branch/discipline can be considered based on their industry experience. Minimum relevant experience required: 0 to 5 years
\n
