Job Title: Sr. Cloud/ Backend Engineer
Location: Remote in India (Hyderabad or Gurgaon or Bangalore ) – must be one of locations
Work hours: 5am-1pmEST (2:30- 10:30pmIST)
Duration: 6mo contract (or ongoing)

We need people who are experienced with azure function apps, APIM, Service Bus (for queueing messages for processing), event grid (for publishing events), key vault, authentication mechanisms, and cosmos DB
Must-haves:
7+ years of professional experience as a backend software engineer
Strong hands‑on experience with C# and .NET (8+) in enterprise environments
Experience building and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure (azure function apps, APIM, service bus, event grid, key vault, authentication mechanisms, and cosmos db)
Solid database experience with Oracle, or strong experience with SQL Server plus willingness to transition and deepen Oracle skills
Exposure to Azure‑based modernization or cloud migration initiatives
Background working within Agile methodologies and scrum teams
Ability to support both new feature development and production issues
Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently in a distributed team, and great communication skills
Plusses:
Experience in the insurance domain, particularly policy or claims systems
We are looking for a Sr. Cloud/ Backend Engineer to join our large insurance client. In this role, the engineer will work as part of an Agile team supporting backend services for the client's policy and claims system, contributing across both legacy and modern platforms. Approximately 65% of the role will focus on Azure, with the movement of legacy systems into the cloud, 25% on .NET development, and about 10% on SQL work. The engineer will participate in daily stand‑ups, work within two‑week sprint cycles, and deliver into monthly production releases. Day to day, this individual will design, develop, and enhance backend functionality using C# and .NET, collaborate with team members to implement scalable solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and help evolve the platform toward more cloud‑native architectures. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has great communication skills, and can work independently.
