Job Description – Commvault Backup Administrator

Experience: 2–5 Years

Location: Hyderabad – Work from Office

Shift: 24x7 Rotational Shifts

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners / Maximum 30 Days

Certification: Commvault Certification Mandatory / Preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for a Backup Administrator with 2–5 years of experience, preferably with strong hands-on experience in Commvault Backup.The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the end-to-end backup infrastructure in an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, responsible, good at troubleshooting, and comfortable working in a team and handling critical backup issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily backup operations and backup infrastructure.
\n
• Troubleshoot backup failures, restore failures, and recovery issues.
\n
• Manage and troubleshoot Commvault Media Agents, Storage Policies, Sub-Clients, schedules, and Deduplication.
\n
• Perform daily health checks and identify backup-related issues.
\n
• Handle backup and restore escalations and take corrective actions.
\n
• Support backup infrastructure across Windows, Linux, VMware, and Storage environments.
\n
• Work with internal teams such as Server, Storage, Network, VMware, Linux, and Windows teams.
\n
• Coordinate with vendors for critical and complex issues.
\n
• Support backup infrastructure optimization and implementation of best practices.
\n
• Participate in disaster recovery and backup recovery activities.
\n
• Perform upgrades, maintenance, and configuration changes on backup infrastructure.
\n
• Support automation of repetitive backup administration tasks using scripts/automation tools.
\n
• Be available for 24x7 support / after-office-hours support when required.
\n
• Strong hands-on experience in Commvault Backup.
\n
• Good knowledge of Commvault architecture and components.
\n
• Experience with: Media Agents , Storage Policies ,sub-Clients , Schedules ,Deduplication / DDB ,Backup and Restore , Catalog/Database recovery .
\n
• Experience in backup administration and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
\n
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux.
\n
• Basic knowledge of VMware and Storage technologies.
\n
• Exposure to AWS / Azure / GCP / OCI backup environments is an added advantage.
\n
• Knowledge of database backups such as Oracle, SQL, SAP HANA, Exchange, DB2, etc., is an advantage.

• Knowledge of NetBackup or Veeam is an added advantage.
\n
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
