Concept Designer – Retail Experience

Role Description

We’re looking for a Concept Designer – Retail Experience (3–5 years exp.) with a strong conceptual design mindset and the ability to translate a brand’s personality, positioning and customer needs into compelling physical retail experiences.

This role is for someone who can think beyond layouts and aesthetics - developing the central design idea, customer journey, material language, visual identity and spatial experience that make a store distinctive.

You’ll work closely with our Founder and design team on new Retail Design Identities, flagship stores and concepts for leading national and international brands.

What You’ll Do

• Lead concept design and creative development for retail projects
• Translate brand strategy and positioning into spatial concepts and customer experiences
• Develop strong design narratives, mood boards, material palettes and visual directions
• Create innovative storefronts, interiors, fixtures, feature elements and brand experiences
• Develop layouts with a strong understanding of customer journey, merchandise and retail planning
• Create compelling concept presentations and confidently present ideas internally and to clients
• Take concepts through design development while maintaining the original design intent
• Work collaboratively with architects, visualizers and project teams

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in retail, hospitality or experiential interior design
• Strong conceptual thinking and design sensibility; ability to develop an idea from a blank sheet
• Strong understanding of brand, consumer behaviour, retail trends and spatial experience
• Excellent visual communication and presentation skills
• Strong eye for materials, lighting, detailing, proportion and composition
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial and execution realities
• A portfolio demonstrating the design process and thinking behind projects, not just finished renders
• Curious, observant and constantly looking at what is happening in retail and design globally

Software Proficiency

·       Mandatory: AutoCAD, SketchUp or equivalent, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·       Preferred: Photoshop, Illustrator, Rendering tools (V-Ray, Enscape, etc.)

Location

Whitefield, Bangalore (On-site role)

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s in Architecture OR Interior Design; Masters Preferred

·       Relevant internships are a plus
