Group Head - IT

Position Responsibilities

1.Technology Vision & Strategy:

• Develop and implement a technology plan aligned with the school's overall strategic goals. This might include areas like infrastructure, software, learning platforms, and data security.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential to enhance teaching, learning, and administration.
• Promote the effective use of technology across all departments and grade levels.

2.Software Design & Development

• Design and maintain a scalable, secure technical architecture that is aligned with industry standards.
• Design and develop custom software and integrations (APIs, automations), applying industry best practices.
• Own code quality and technical debt: enforce version control, code review, and documentation standards
• Establish architecture review process and secure applications by design - authentication, data handling, and access controls built in the system.

3. Infrastructure & Operations:

• Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, devices, and software.
• Oversee IT support services to address the needs of students, teachers, and staff.
• Manage IT budgets and resources effectively.
• Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and systems.

4. Learning & Teaching:

• Support the integration of technology into the curriculum by providing professional development for teachers and identifying appropriate digital resources.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of technology-based learning initiatives.
• Oversee the management of student information systems and learning platforms.
• Explore and implement innovative approaches to digital learning, such as online courses, blended learning, and personalized learning.

5. Communication & Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders about technology initiatives and updates.
• Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and parents to ensure technology is used effectively to support student learning.
• Build strong relationships with technology vendors and partners.
