Note: Prior experience working with a non-profit or social-impact organisation is mandatory.
About the Role:

We are looking for a Storyteller who can bring these journeys to life through authentic, thoughtful, and engaging storytelling.

This role goes beyond writing. You will listen deeply, build trust with people from diverse backgrounds, understand their experiences, and identify the moments, challenges, choices, and transformations that make each journey meaningful.

You will work closely with learners, alumni, mentors, and internal teams to discover stories and turn them into compelling content for social media, websites, newsletters, campaigns, reports, and other communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop compelling stories from learner, alumni, mentor, and team experiences.
  • Conduct thoughtful one-on-one interviews and conversations to understand people's journeys in depth.
  • Build trust and create a comfortable environment for individuals to share personal experiences.
  • Identify the human insight, transformation, and larger social context behind each story.
  • Write authentic and engaging stories for websites, social media, newsletters, campaigns, reports, and other platforms.
  • Develop different storytelling formats, including written profiles, social media narratives, case studies, testimonials, and campaign stories.
  • Collaborate with programme and digital marketing teams to align stories with communication objectives.
  • Conduct background research and fact-check information to ensure accuracy and authenticity.
  • Handle sensitive personal stories with empathy, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
  • Take ownership of the complete storytelling process — from identifying a story and conducting interviews to drafting, refining, and publishing the final content.
  • Travel or visit programme locations when required to meet learners and understand their experiences firsthand.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Has 3–6 years of experience in storytelling, journalism, content writing, communications, media, documentary work, or a related field.
  • Is an excellent writer with a strong command of English.
  • Is an even stronger listener and interviewer.
  • Can connect naturally with people from different social and economic backgrounds.
  • Has the ability to ask thoughtful questions and uncover meaningful stories.
  • Can translate complex or deeply personal experiences into simple, engaging narratives.
  • Demonstrates empathy, sensitivity, and respect while working with vulnerable or underserved communities.
  • Can distinguish between an emotional story and an authentic, credible story.
  • Is comfortable working independently and taking ownership from story discovery to final output.
  • Has a strong understanding of digital and social media storytelling.
  • Is comfortable working in an on-site, fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
