Role Overview

\n
• The Expert Network Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise and data-center-wide voice and data network solutions aligned with architecture and business models.
\n
• Owns developing, implementing, and maintaining Network, Security/Threat, and Voice solutions, along with network documentation, standards, and capacity planning.
\n
• Interacts and consults directly with clients to collect solution requirements and coordinate implementation.
\n

What You Will Do

\n
• Support all network environments for clients.
\n
• Provide L3 Operations support for investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving network communications and operations issues impacting client, backbone access, or performance.
\n
• Design, engineer, and implement complex network solutions across a variety of disciplines, security postures, access control, and infrastructure.
\n
• Own Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Change Management, Event Management, and Problem Management for all client environments.
\n
• Perform a consultative role for internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
\n
• Proactively monitor client network performance and recommend improvements.
\n
• Drive and implement network solutions-based architectures to increase efficiencies.
\n
• Contribute proactively to documentation, automation, and process improvement.
\n
• Provide strategic technical direction on highly complex network projects, including design approach and systems technology selection.
\n
• Perform client and market research to define and qualify strategy and direction.
\n
• Research and develop innovative solutions around existing and future network technologies; create product roadmaps and write user stories/requirements.
\n
• Regularly lead self and others, acting as Product SME or specialist.
\n
• Manage multiple projects and plan the network roadmap.
\n
• Analyze current and future IT industry trends for potential impact on network systems architecture.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role and 12+ years overall within the network space.
\n
• Strong, hands-on VMware NSX experience — this is the primary technical focus for this search.
\n
• Solid core routing and switching fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP/eBGP, MPLS, SNMP, VPN, SSH).
\n
• Hands-on F5 load balancing experience.
\n
• Firewall experience: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco's product portfolio: routers, switches, wireless, ACS, and ISE.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer support capabilities.
\n
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
\n
• Methodical problem-resolving skills and mastery of high-level and detailed network design.
\n
• Experience designing, engineering, and implementing Software Defined Networking.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Cloud networking experience in Azure or AWS (VPCs/VNets, NSGs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, VPN connectivity for hybrid cloud architectures).
\n
• Advanced knowledge of additional routing and switching protocols beyond core fundamentals.
\n
• Experience with other load balancing technologies such as Netscaler, A10.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
\n
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, or CCDE.
\n
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
\n
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer Associate) or AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
