User Researcher

Company

Job Description

About the Role

  • Build a deep understanding of our users — their motivations, behaviours, pain points and decision-making — and turn those insights into better product and business decisions.
  • This is a 50% product research + 50% business/consumer research role. You’ll work closely with Product, Strategy and Business teams to answer important questions about our users and markets.
  • This is not a pure UX Research role focused only on usability testing or design feedback. We’re looking for someone who can sit at the intersection of people, product and business and use research to influence what we build and how we think about our users.

What you’ll own

  • Identify the right research questions instead of simply executing a predefined brief.
  • Conduct user interviews, surveys, usability studies and other qualitative/quantitative research end-to-end.
  • Understand the why behind user behaviour motivations, mental models, barriers, preferences and decision-making.
  • Translate research into clear, actionable insights for Product and Business teams.
  • Partner with Product teams on new ideas, product decisions and understanding user problems.
  • Work with business teams to understand customer segments, market behaviour and opportunities.
  • Build frameworks and research practices that help Leap continuously understand its users better.

Who we’re looking for

  • 2–3 years of experience in User Research, with a background in Psychology / Behavioural Science / Sociology or a related field.
  • Strong grounding in research methodology — qualitative and quantitative.
  • Someone who is naturally curious about why people think and behave the way they do.
  • Strong interviewer who can get beyond obvious answers and uncover real motivations.
  • Able to take unstructured information and turn it into a clear point of view.
  • Comfortable working closely with Product and Business teams, rather than operating as a research function in isolation.
  • Strong communication and storytelling — you should be able to make research useful to people who weren't in the room.
